Prior to founding Boreal Ventures, David worked at BDC Capital where he helped manage a $135M early-stage venture fund. Before he joined BDC, David spent 4 years in management consulting and strategy at KPMG-SECOR, where he supported executives on investment decisions, strategic planning and post-merger integration.

Sam joined Boreal Ventures in 2021 as the fund was launching, and quickly became Vice President of Finance. His expertise in deal structuring, investor relations, and fund operations plays a pivotal role within the team, alongside his ability to foster strong relationships with portfolio companies. Before joining Boreal Ventures, he spent several years at KPMG, managing clients in various industries. Sam holds a Bachelor's in Business Administration from HEC Montreal and a CPA designation.

Samuel began his career at Deloitte, rising to Assistant Manager in Audit & Accounting, where he specialized in complex audits involving M&A and distressed businesses. He then joined Deloitte’s Value Creation Services, advising large public companies on M&A integration and separation strategies. At Valsoft, he led operations for ValPay, its internal fintech venture, scaling it from a 5-person team to a global business with 25 employees across 10+ countries, generating tens of millions in annual profit. Now at Boreal Ventures, Samuel leverages his operational experience to discover and support rising entrepreneurs shaping Canada’s tech future.
